The Garden Club of Santa Barbara

Botanical Arts

The Botanical Arts Committee encourages members to take up the craft of this detailed and intricate design technique using only dried plant material to create lifelike motifs. Designs can include: botanical jewelry such as earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings; botanical embellishments that enhance a ready-made object with dried plant material such as decorating a box or an egg; botanical couture that emulates an item of clothing or other fashion accessory; and botanical forms using dried plant material  to create a natural form like a flower, bird’s nest, bug, or animal.

The Botanical Arts committee is here to teach, excite and nurture our members’ creativity for using dried plant material in embellishing the craft of botanical arts.
